Himalaya Yarn : Knitting with an Altitude! Yarns and patterns for hand knitters

Himalaya Yarn: Knitting with an Altitude!

Namaste! Welcome to Himalaya Yarn.
Anni Kristensen
I started Himalaya Yarn in 1996 while working with a Tibetan family in Nepal. Together, we brought Recycled Silk yarn to the attention of hand knitters in North America. Since then, our cottage industry has expanded to include a variety of quality yarns made of silk, wool and plant based fibers.

Himalaya Yarn, the yarn and pattern source for hand-knittersOur mission is to bring unusual yarns to hand knitters while helping to employ people in Nepal.

Himalaya Yarns are made using the least amount of technology possible. Many are hand spun and/or hand dyed. We value the work of human hands; people, not machines, do the work resulting in yarns that are as unique and varied as each individual who makes them.

We hope you enjoy our yarns and patterns!            Sincerely, Anni Kristensen
